Job Summary:

As an EHS Specialist at Conagra Brands, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's environmental health and safety programs, policies, and systems are implemented effectively across all departments. You will provide leadership and technical support to the site's operational and maintenance teams to reduce risk, achieve compliance, and maintain a world-class performance level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support EHS Management Systems: Develop and implement strategies to achieve zero injuries and world-class performance.
  • Lead Work Streams: Collaborate with the EHS Pillar Team to identify and mitigate risks, and eliminate losses.
  • Participate in Unified Problem Solving Events: Engage in incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Environmental Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections, maintain permit requirements, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Develop and Implement EHS Training: Create and deliver site-specific training programs to ensure employees are equipped to perform their jobs safely.
  • Manage LOTO and Hearing Conservation Programs: Develop and implement procedures for lockout/tagout and hearing conservation, and coordinate annual audiograms.
  • Ensure EHS Policy Compliance: Review and update EHS policies, and ensure employees are trained on their responsibilities.
  • Contractor and Project EHS Management: Coordinate EHS activities for contractors and projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Represent EHS on Pillar Teams and Committees: Participate in cross-functional teams to promote EHS awareness and best practices.
  • Manage Safety Keep Stock Program: Oversee the inventory and distribution of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: In Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of EHS experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or related industry.
  • Skills: Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools and fundamentals, awareness of food safety, quality, and Process Safety Management (PSM) elements.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with moderate noise levels, and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
