We are in search of a skilled and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage and refine our material acquisition and inventory processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of strategies for the effective procurement of goods and supplies from both domestic and international sources.
  • Formulate and implement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels in alignment with fluctuating market conditions and company objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline inventory management, focusing on the elimination of unnecessary components and enhancing demand planning.
  • Establish and uphold inventory policies, ensuring accurate planning data for all purchasing items within the ERP system to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Collaborate in the Supplier Score Card process to enhance supplier communication and performance.
  • Assess the impact of weekly demand fluctuations on inventory requirements and devise strategies to mitigate associated risks.
  • Develop tailored strategies for each supplier and product on a monthly basis to meet merchandise demand, considering factors such as portfolio size and production complexity.
  • Monitor and implement strategies for managing excess materials and obsolete supplies, ensuring efficient disposal processes.
  • Maintain oversight of backlog requirements and engage with suppliers to address additional freight costs due to delivery inefficiencies.
  • Coordinate material availability with production scheduling teams to align build and shipping dates for orders.
  • Facilitate vendor requirements and trade reviews to track demand changes and address packaging and delivery challenges.
  • Issue and manage return merchandise authorization (RMA) purchase orders and follow up on vendor return shipments.
  • Resolve any import, logistics, or billing discrepancies that may arise.
  • Support positive price variance (PPV) sourcing initiatives and adjust open order pricing based on sourcing negotiations.
  • Communicate and resolve quality issues, including the elimination of non-conforming material rejections.
  • Coordinate the resolution of vendor quantity discrepancies across various product lines.
  • Monitor and approve the use of non-standard components, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Prepare and oversee the purchasing and supplies budget, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Update and implement departmental policies and procedures to support the company's strategic objectives.
  • Propose strategies to align with the company's business plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Valid passport and visa required.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Fluent in English for effective business negotiations.
  • Understanding of logistics and customs processes for material supply across various regions.
  • Certification or foundational knowledge of APICS, with completion of at least three modules.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in team management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Motivated to build a career in materials and logistics management.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving material challenges.
  • Experience in document control and warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with managing engineering changes and related documentation.
