Job Summary

The Director of Respiratory Therapy is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the provision of high-quality patient care in the Cardiopulmonary Services department. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage staff, budget, and resources effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Lead and manage a team of respiratory therapists, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to provide excellent patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to achieve program goals and improve patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement education programs for staff, patients, and families.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory therapy techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • Current RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
