About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Protection Specialist to join our team at The RealReal. As an integral part of our retail stores, this role plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, employees, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Safety and Security Processes: Collaborate with our Sr. Manager, Retail and Sales Asset Protection to develop and implement safety and security procedures, including business continuity plans.
  • Utilize CCTV for Safety and Investigations: Review video footage to identify potential safety risks and investigate incidents, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to bring cases to closure.
  • Lead Inventory Cycle Counts: Partner with our inventory operations team to conduct weekly inventory cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Conduct Audits and Compliance Checks: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly audits to ensure adherence to Asset Protection policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Physical Security and Alarm Response: Serve as a key holder and respond to off-hour alarm activations, ensuring the physical security of our buildings and assets.
  • Training and Development: Train and guide current and new team members on Asset Protection processes and systems, ensuring proper compliance and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our store teams to support total business needs and Asset Protection initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication.
  • Industry Trends and Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions, developing Asset Protection strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Incident Investigation and Documentation: Identify and document internal and external theft incidents, working closely with our management team to develop and implement corrective actions.
What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Asset Protection Specialist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • 1+ Year of Asset Protection or Security Experience: Proven experience in Asset Protection or security, with a strong understanding of physical security principles and practices.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and team members.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service.
