Position Summary:

We are in search of a DOAS Systems Administrator1 for a long-term contract role. This position is hybrid, requiring the consultant to work onsite for a portion of the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive technical assistance to users regarding hardware, software, and application challenges.
  • Oversee and maintain AWS servers, ensuring peak performance and robust security measures.
  • Manage IT helpdesk operations, addressing user inquiries and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server-related issues within the AWS framework.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for AWS management utilizing programming languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to introduce new technologies and enhance existing systems.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures concerning IT and data security.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, addressing technical issues related to hardware, software, and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in an AWS environment.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming for AWS management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
  • Experience with network configuration and security.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices.
