Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Agricultural Operations Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in agricultural operations. The Agricultural Operations Associate will support the Field Operations team with various tasks, including the establishment of research trials, general upkeep, and pesticide application, as well as assisting during plot tours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement agronomic operations for internal partners, focusing on innovative agricultural technologies that contribute to global food and clothing supply.
  • Assist in the establishment of crops and trials, which includes measuring and labeling plots, planting/transplanting, evaluating crop efficacy, and managing irrigation systems.
  • Support the mixing and application of crop protection products under supervision.
  • Help transport equipment to research locations as directed.
  • Conduct maintenance on field trials and equipment.
  • Participate in the setup and monitoring of sales demonstration trials.
  • Input data into the scouting system accurately.
  • Operate farm machinery as needed.
  • Engage in various field activities such as planting, pollinating, harvesting, weeding, and preparing fields.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of farm assets.
  • Support safety initiatives by following all safety protocols and attending company-sponsored safety meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Proficient in reading and writing, with the ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Commitment to adhering to standard operating procedures and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow daily guidance from supervisors.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in agriculture or farming is advantageous, along with basic computer skills.
    • A pesticide applicator license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of college education or relevant experience in agriculture is preferred but not required.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 1-2 years of college education or experience in an agricultural field is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
  • Shift Requirements:
    • 7:00 AM start time.
    • Flexibility to work beyond 8 hours per day may be required.
    • Extended hours or shift work may be necessary during peak seasons.
