Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
  • Complete and verify documentation, explain procedures to patients, and prepare and calibrate testing equipment.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards and follow departmental procedural protocols.
  • Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center-specific protocols and generate accurate reports.
  • Implement appropriate interventions, including continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Work closely with staff members, trainees, and students to provide instruction, education, and precept/mentor in order to deliver optimal testing results.
Requirements
  • Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
  • Board Certified examinations with Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technology (BRPT), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) certification or equivalent required.
