Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join our team at Bronson Healthcare. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for performing radiotherapy treatments and simulations, providing patient education, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe and effective radiotherapy treatments to patients, following principles of radiation protection (i.e., ALARA) for patient, self, and others.
- Operates medical equipment used for radiotherapy, administering prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts as planned and prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
- Performs simulation as prescribed by a radiation oncologist, fabricating individualized immobilization devices.
- Maintains accurate records of each dose including changes in dose, set-up, or other therapy modifications.
Requirements
- Associate's degree required, with formal education and training for Radiation Therapist Board Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist R., RT(T) Required (must be in good standing and valid in the state of Michigan)
- BLS required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
