About the Role

We are currently looking for a Steel Finisher/Loader to join our production team at Shepard Steel. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work well with minimal supervision, as well as with other coworkers. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coating, loading, and unloading structural steel and miscellaneous metal components onto or from trucks using overhead cranes and/or forklifts. They will also be expected to operate hand and power tools common to the painting and loading trade, including overhead cranes, fork trucks, and other equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, including wire brushing and scraping as necessary.
  • Apply paint or other finishes to steel using brushes, spray guns, or rollers as required by job specifications.
  • Operate overhead cranes, fork trucks, and other equipment to transport materials to and from the paint bay and transportation vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
