Job Title: Veterinarian for Exotic Animals

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team at Westminster Veterinary Group. As a Veterinarian for Exotic Animals, you will have the opportunity to practice advanced medicine on a diverse range of species, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, exotic mammals, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat animals brought into the veterinary clinic/hospital for medical care
  • Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spay/neuter operations as well as more complex surgeries
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
  • Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, blood work, etc. and develop treatment plans
  • Assist in emergencies and provide urgent/critical care when needed
  • Stay up-to-date on new veterinary techniques, medications, and best practices
Requirements:
  • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of CA
  • 2+ years of clinical experience, preferred
  • New grads with internship in exotics considered
  • Strong clinical skills and sound medical judgment
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Time-management and delegation abilities
  • Exercises sound judgement and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
