Job Summary

The Sanitation Technician is a key member of our team at Daybreak Foods, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our egg processing equipment. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment on a daily basis
  • Work with chemicals, high-pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, and simple mechanical tools
  • Maintain training on the correct use of equipment, chemicals, and their Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Review sanitation chemicals with the supervisor, including use, mixing, and appropriateness
  • Responsible for record keeping and paperwork
  • Maintain equipment and keep it in good repair
Qualifications
  • Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable
  • Training for egg-specific equipment would be provided
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) or equivalent practices is highly desirable
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs
  • Speak English and Spanish is highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of sanitation methods, chemical handling, and use
  • Knowledge of process control systems and food safety principles
Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
