We are seeking a highly skilled On-Road Operations Manager to join our team at UPS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising the daily performance of service providers to ensure quality service, improve performance, and maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Manage and work with on-road employees to maximize efficiency and ensure that packages are delivered in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Performance Improvement: Develop and implement effective work process plans, troubleshoot service inefficiencies, review work processes and schedules, and monitor costs to budget.
- Customer Focus: Encourage sales lead participation through maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships, respond to customer concerns, uncover business development opportunities, and create a customer-focused work environment.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive health and safety plan, conduct risk management and safety compliance audits, and maintain employee safety training and certifications.
- Leadership and Development: Participate in the development and implementation of work process plans to maximize center proficiency and achieve business results, conduct performance evaluations, and resolve individual and group performance issues.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree)
- Experience: Previous UPS Package car driving experience, DOT certified, and willing to take a physical exam, including a driving test
- Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, ability to lift 70lbs/32 kgs, and ability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
- Job Grade: 20F
- Employee Type: Permanent
