Job Summary

The SpOT Clinic is seeking a dedicated and licensed/registered occupational therapist for a PRN position in Madison, Alabama. As a pediatric occupational therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and enhancing the daily living and educational skills of children with diverse conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and Identify Client Needs: Assess children's goals and needs to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide Cost-Effective Treatments: Offer personalized and evidence-based care to improve clients' functional ability and participation in social settings.
  • Develop Pediatric Care Plans: Utilize various treatment techniques to create comprehensive care plans for children.
  • Consult and Collaborate: Work with other health professionals to promote children's independence and improve core and UE strength, fine motor skills, sensory integration/processing, and visual motor coordination.
  • Document Patient Care Services: Maintain accurate records of patient care services, including progress and outcomes.
  • Supervise COTAs: Provide guidance and oversight to certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) as needed.
Qualifications
  • Proven Experience: Possess proven working experience as an occupational therapist, with excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy.
  • Professional Behavior: Demonstrate professional behavior, including excellent interpersonal communication skills and a passion for children's services.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in using computer programs and creative media, with familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools and Google Suite products.
  • Education and Licensure: Hold a master's degree or greater in occupational therapy and a valid license to practice occupational therapy or be in the process of obtaining a license.
Commitment and Availability
  • PRN Employee Expectations: PRN employees will be requested to work in advance due to scheduled vacation time, and may be called to work on short notice for unscheduled illness/time off.
  • Minimum Work Requirement: PRN employees must work one shift every calendar month.
