A successful Automotive Technician will utilize their technical expertise to diagnose and repair complex automotive systems. This role requires strong leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team to deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Repair - Utilize technical expertise to diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
- Team Leadership - Provide leadership and mentoring to team members to increase customer care and satisfaction.
- Customer Interaction - Deliver superior service to customers by educating them on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.
- Technical Knowledge - Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Team Collaboration - Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
- Communication - Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical individuals.
- Shop Maintenance - Maintain an organized and neat shop environment.
- Company Policies - Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
- Education - High School Diploma or GED
- Experience - 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
- Certifications - 4 or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension A5 Brakes, plus 2 from the following: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance)
- Section 609 Certification - Required
- State Inspection License - If applicable
- Physical Demands - Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
