Job Summary
We are seeking a Blood Collection Specialist to join our team at CSL Plasma. This role involves greeting donors, conducting registration procedures, and ensuring donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
Main Responsibilities
- Greet and register donors, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for plasma donation.
- Conduct screening procedures, including assessing health history, performing basic medical questions, and taking vital signs.
- Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
Requirements
- Degree in a related field (health science, biology, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting, preferably in blood collection or phlebotomy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work well under pressure.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and equipment.
- Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during work hours.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and move quickly around the facility.
Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year.
