The Department of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to eligible Veterans through a network of medical facilities. We are currently seeking a skilled Body Imaging and Musculoskeletal Radiologist to join our diagnostic radiology team across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will engage in a variety of clinical, educational, and administrative tasks within the radiology department. Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting a wide range of radiological studies, including general radiology, body imaging (CT/MRI/US), and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Evaluating radiology requests for appropriateness, responding to consults in a timely manner, and prescribing examination protocols.
- Reviewing image quality and providing constructive feedback to technical staff, ensuring informed consent is obtained and coordinating clinical care.
- Communicating urgent findings promptly and documenting notes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Conducting patient interactions to gather relevant clinical histories and physical examination findings.
- Overseeing the administration of medications, including contrast materials, pertinent to diagnostic radiology practices.
- Participating in quality assurance initiatives, including peer reviews and performance improvement activities.
- Contributing to educational programs and clinical conferences, such as tumor boards.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Service.
Compensation: Competitive salary range with potential for annual performance bonuses and guaranteed salary increases.
Work Schedule: This position requires on-site presence, with the possibility of travel between various campuses.
