Job Summary

The Sales Associate/Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring all customers and donors needs are met by providing a genuine greeting and prompt, courteous assistance. This includes stocking priced items, maintaining the store and donation area, and following all POS/Cash Register policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and donors, and assisting with purchases and donations.
  • Stock and merchandise products on the sales floor, ensuring a visually appealing and organized store environment.
  • Maintain the store and donation area, including cleaning and organization, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and donors.
  • Operate the POS/Cash Register system, handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items, inspecting products for defects and damages.
  • Assist donors with the removal of donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
  • Separate and sort donated materials into proper containers, and stack materials as instructed by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
  • Pass a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Work Schedule

  • Our stores operate 7 days per week, with work schedules determined by management.
  • Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
