We are seeking a highly skilled Field Services Representative to join our team at DeKalb County Government. As a Field Services Representative, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining water meters, connecting and disconnecting water services, and performing related duties in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to requests for service and/or complaints regarding meter operations, investigate meter's operating condition, troubleshoot problems, calibrate meter if needed, and educate customers on program policies and procedures.
- Install, clean, maintain, and replace water meters, locate meters and mark meter location, utilize maps, metal detectors, previous location markings, etc., replace defective parts such as couplings, washers, and meter boxes, repair meters and leaks, and perform routine maintenance.
- Connect new and re-established water services, install and connect water meters, disconnect delinquent accounts, and lock or pull meters as needed, and leave required notices for customers regarding meter problems, billing, or other issues.
- Utilize assigned vehicle to travel to and from service locations, utilize GPS devices, map books, or personal knowledge to locate service addresses, maintain trip logs and other required documentation.
- Maintain and update customer information in departmental computer systems, and enter data regarding inspections, repairs, customer complaints, and requests, etc.
- High school diploma or GED; two years of experience in meter reading, installation, or maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
