The role encompasses a range of responsibilities including screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and consultations, all conducted in alignment with established Nutrition Service policies and facility regulations governing dietetic practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough nutrition screenings for clients.
- Evaluate clients' nutritional requirements, dietary restrictions, and existing health plans to formulate and execute tailored dietary-care strategies and provide nutritional guidance.
- Complete dietary consultations within a specified timeframe following order notifications.
- Collaborate in the creation of standard and therapeutic menu plans and nutritional supplements based on the physiological and psychological needs of clients.
- Work alongside the Director of Dietary to assess the performance of Dietary staff, ensuring the provision of nutritionally balanced and high-quality meals.
- Provide education to clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, modifications, and food selection and preparation techniques.
- Ensure precise and timely documentation of all nutritional care activities.
- Offer counseling to individuals and groups regarding fundamental nutrition guidelines, healthy eating habits, and the significance of nutrition in managing specific health issues.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ascertain clients' nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
- Review and validate the facility's diet manual annually in partnership with medical personnel.
- Oversee food service operations to guarantee adherence to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards as necessary.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field recognized for licensure.
- Prior experience with Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse is highly preferred in environments catering to these client demographics.
- Maintain current registration as a dietitian or meet state requirements for endorsement in the service area.
- Possess SERV Safe certification or an equivalent food safety credential as mandated by state or facility regulations.
