Job Overview

Position: Caregiver - Care Companions

The Care Companion Caregiver plays a vital role in ensuring client satisfaction by aiding them in their daily activities, offering companionship, and performing light housekeeping tasks. This position also involves assisting with basic meal preparation, facilitating social interactions, and providing transportation for clients.

Work Schedule: Evening shifts available, with flexibility to accommodate your availability, approximately 10-15 hours weekly.

Compensation: Pay ranges from $15.85 to $23.77 per hour, based on previous caregiving experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Ability to adhere to client and Care Companions guidelines.
  2. Punctuality and task completion as scheduled.
  3. Capability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with others.
  4. Compassionate attitude towards clients and a genuine desire to assist.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours weekly, including one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday consecutively).
  7. Completion of all required training and background checks within specified timelines.
  8. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding clients, families, caregivers, support staff, and organizational information.
  9. Understanding of proper body mechanics and standard safety precautions.
  10. Flexibility in scheduling and task management to meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Care Companion Caregiver staff may provide support in the following areas:
  2. Assistance with Activities of Daily Living/Personal Care
  3. Housekeeping and laundry services
  4. Homemaking and meal preparation
  5. Social engagement and companionship
  6. Errands and incidental transportation
  7. Maintain required competencies and skills
  8. Report any changes in client conditions or family situations promptly to the appropriate personnel
  9. Document activities consistently and accurately according to Care Companions protocols and standards
  10. Comply with all relevant local, state, and federal laws, as well as Unity's policies and procedures
  11. Fulfill mandatory training requirements regarding regulations and Unity's policies
  12. Uphold confidentiality at all times
  13. Maintain professional boundaries
  14. Ensure regular and reliable attendance
  15. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in caregiving, homemaking, or personal care is preferred but not mandatory.

CNA or Personal Care Worker experience is advantageous but not required.

A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
