Smithfield Foods is seeking a skilled technician to join our team as an Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of operating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing ammonia-based refrigeration systems, HVAC stand-alone "rack" systems, and boiler and hot water systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing ammonia-based refrigeration systems, HVAC stand-alone "rack" systems, and boiler and hot water systems.
  • Performing regular maintenance and repairs on refrigeration, HVAC, boiler, and hot water systems.
  • Rebuilding ammonia, HVAC, boiler, and hot water system components in accordance with technical manuals.
  • Completing all applicable documentation in performance of and as required by the job.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of ammonia-based refrigeration systems, HVAC stand-alone "rack" systems, and boiler and hot water systems.
  • Basic knowledge of General Maintenance and Electrical and Electronic Systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or individually with little or no supervision.
  • Compliance with all Company SAFETY rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.
