Nurse Care Specialist

Children's Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Virtual Care team. As a key member of our team, you will provide guidance and support to registered nurses who work in direct patient care at CMC Plano.
Job Summary:As a Registered Nurse Virtual, you will utilize the nursing process to help others deliver developmentally appropriate care. You will work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs.
Responsibilities:- Use clinical expertise to provide support to nurses at the bedside.
- Complete chart audits and communicate findings with bedside staff.
- Direct, delegate, and coordinate patient care, using clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines.
- Perform admission profile documentation and discharge teaching with families.
- Collaborate with bedside staff to ensure patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to assist in developing and implementing an appropriate plan of care.
- Advocate for the patient, represent the concerns of the patient/family, and identify and assist in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters in EPIC.
- At least 5 years of bedside nursing experience in the PICU.
- Four-year Bachelor's degree - BSN.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements.
- PALS within 180 days of hire.
- CCRN required.
