Job Title: Associate Counsel, Development

Apex Clean Energy is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel, Development to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide critical support to our development team, ensuring the successful execution of our renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal guidance and support to our development team on project-related matters, including permitting, contracting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the review and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other documents related to project development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to project development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments to provide informed guidance to the development team.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2-8 years of experience in regulatory, litigation, land-use, or environmental practice areas at a top-tier law firm or sophisticated corporate legal department.
  • Experience with permitting, contracting, and regulatory compliance in the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Admitted to practice law in any US jurisdiction.
