Position Overview

Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Travel EEG Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role involves working in various healthcare settings, providing essential neurodiagnostic services.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS certification is required.
  • Technical Skills: Candidates must possess strong high-level disinfection (HLD) skills and proficient general gastrointestinal (GI) skills for procedures such as biopsies, snaring, and injections.
Job Responsibilities
  • A healthcare facility in Arizona is in need of an experienced EEG Technologist for a travel position.
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: The role will involve working with patients undergoing various GI procedures including esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and more.
  • Vaccination Policy: Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination is required, or a declination form with appropriate documentation must be provided.
Candidate Requirements
  • Applicants must not have worked in Arizona as a permanent staff member for the past year and should not currently hold a position in an acute care hospital or hospital system in Arizona.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and possess an active BLS certification.
Work Schedule
  • Typical shifts are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility in start and end times based on case volumes.
  • Weekend support may be required on a rotational basis for primary tech on call.
  • Occasional late shifts may be necessary for the last cases of the day, with a call response time of 30 minutes.
Unit Information
  • Department: Endoscopy Tech
  • Facility Capacity: 2 procedure rooms and 15 pre/post procedure beds.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients.
  • Essential Skills: Candidates must demonstrate meticulous HLD skills and strong general GI capabilities.
Additional Insights
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience is required.
  • Charge nurses may take assignments as needed.
  • All endoscopic procedures are managed by anesthesia.
  • Scrubs are provided by the hospital, with a designated color code.
  • Comprehensive orientation specific to the unit will be provided.
  • This position involves high-volume advanced GI cases, averaging approximately 20 cases per day, with a preference for advanced GI skills in EUS, EBUS, ERCP, and stone management.
