Job Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment by keeping the facilities sanitary and orderly. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Director of Custodial Services and will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, and pull.

He/she must be able to move continuously during work hours, including the use of stairs, and must be able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to work within dusty conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain various machines such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers, etc.

• Keep bathrooms stocked and cleaned daily. Clean/sanitize wash basins, mirrors, toilets, showers, etc.

• Keep all areas of the building clean, organized, and promote a healthy environment to include but not limited to washing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.

• Empty trash containers and take contents to centralized waste areas for permanent removal.

• Clean A/C filters weekly or as needed.

• Fill out work requests for any needed repairs to be turned, e.g. leaky faucets, stopped up toilets, or out of order washers/dryers etc.

• Work with various chemicals and follow all instructions for proper and safe use of chemicals. Chemical safety and use of chemicals will be included in the housekeeper's on-board training.

• Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

• Perform additional work as deemed necessary by management.

• Be willing to work as a team player maintaining a friendly disposition at all times.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED

• General housekeeping experience

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

• Ability to work in dusty conditions

Working Conditions:

This position demands good physical and mental aptitude. The custodian will be required to work in a variety of environments, including but not limited to, offices, classrooms, and common areas. The candidate must be able to move continuously during work hours, including the use of stairs, and must be able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work within dusty conditions.
