We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join our team at Kaeko, Inc. As a key member of our surveying department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our surveying services.
Key Responsibilities- Survey Coordination: Coordinate with field crews to conduct boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Survey Data Analysis: Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Project Collaboration: Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.
- Training and Development: Train assistants and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
- Research and Development: Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods, using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
- Proposal Development: Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures, and define scopes and propose on new work.
- Client Communication: Participate in proposal meetings with Customers, and Owners to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
- Project Management: Assist with setup and maintaining projects schedules and budgets, and remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of each project at all times.
- Safety and Compliance: Assist with weekly safety meetings, and assist with progress meetings with Customers, and Owners, and design review meetings with key stakeholders.
- Travel and Physical Demands: Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces, move objects 20-50 pounds long distances, use a 16-pound sledgehammer, and traverse distances up to a 1/2 mile at a time.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required, minimum of four to seven years of survey or related experience, thorough knowledge of construction, boundary, and topographic surveys, and thorough knowledge of survey equipment and data collection.
- Certifications and Licenses: NSPS/ACSM Certified Survey Technician - at least Level 3, Registered Land Surveyor license required, and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Skills and Knowledge: Ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies, knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson, and prior Party Chief experience required.
