Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Histology Laboratory Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will perform essential duties in the histology laboratory, adhering to accepted practices and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform frozen section processing for Mohs micrographic surgery, cutting tissue in ultra-thin sections and modifying techniques based on tissue type.
- Conduct routine, special, and immunohistochemical staining procedures.
- Prepare tissue specimens for routine and special processing, selecting the correct protocol based on physician orders.
Requirements:
- One year of laboratory experience preferred (student experience acceptable).
- Associate's degree and completion of an accredited histology technician or other applicable training program is preferred.
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Registry preferred.
