Key Responsibilities- Provide spiritual assessment and interventions, including active listening, prayer, sacraments, counseling, and teaching, to meet the diverse spiritual needs of our patients and staff.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement plans of care that address the spiritual and emotional needs of our patients.
- Assess and respond to the spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff members, providing support and intervention as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to promote a positive and supportive work environment that fosters wellness, prevention, and community ministry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and staff members to provide ongoing spiritual care and support.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in spiritual care and adhere to standards of care set by professional organizations such as the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) and the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC).
- Certification from an approved professional organization, such as the NACC or APC.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and respond to complex spiritual needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
