Job Summary:The Charge Nurse Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of their assigned floor, collaborating with the Nurse Manager to ensure adherence to DPH regulations and implementing culture change initiatives. This role requires a strong commitment to excellence and high-quality care, with a focus on patient dignity and choice.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Support day-to-day management of the floor, overseeing floor change of shift huddles and monitoring timely arrival of team members.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide communication/report off to Clinical Coordinator at the end of each shift, delegate assignments to team members, and initiate necessary reports.
- Patient Care and Quality: Develop patient care assignments, provide supervision of nursing staff, and complete performance reviews. Assist with monitoring clinical and quality indicators and collaborate with the Nurse Manager to identify system and process improvement plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to DPH regulations, coordinating a team effort to be DPH ready at all times.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with other members of the clinical support team to meet the clinical needs of patients and monitor outcomes of care.
- Professional Development: Assume accountability for his/her own learning needs and professional development, attending professional workshops and on-going education to develop professional and personal leadership skills.
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Current Massachusetts license as an R.N. in good standing.
- Certification: Current CPR certification required.
- Experience: Previous charge or leadership role required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a strong commitment to excellence and high-quality care.
