Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing various laboratory tests and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process blood specimens for testing
  • Perform routine and special clinical laboratory tests using automated equipment and manual testing methods
  • Study the morphology of blood components and identify antibodies in donors or patients' blood
  • Notify nursing units and physicians of critical lab values
  • Implement new testing methods, products, and instrumentation to keep the department current with technology
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in medical technology and laboratory procedures. You should have a graduate degree in Medical Technology or a related field, and be certified as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. Additionally, you should have at least one year of experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
