Sr. Applications Engineer Job Description

 

At Cummins-Wagner Co. Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Applications Engineer to join our team of employee owners. As a key member of our Maryland Industrial Department, you will play a vital role in assisting Industrial Sales Engineers and Inside Sales Representatives with application review and product selection.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Industrial Sales Engineers and Inside Sales Representatives with applications, product selection, pricing, and other related tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, products, and technologies to provide expert advice to our customers.
  • Participate in joint sales calls with Industrial Sales Engineers to review applications in the field as needed.
  • Attend vendor training and meetings to stay current on new products and technologies.
  • Act as a 'Product Champion' for assigned products, providing expertise and support to internal teams.
  • Be available to assist all departments within Cummins-Wagner Co. Inc.
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales Manager to develop an in-house product training program.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess superior communication and organizational skills.
  • Exhibit goal-oriented behaviors and time management principles.
  • Apply extensive attention to detail to all tasks.
  • Exude a customer-focused attitude.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with other common software products, including pump-related software.
  • Experience with pumping systems, heat transfer equipment, and process equipment is preferred.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and industrial sales experience with proven results.
  • Possess a Technical or Business degree, preferred.
  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test.
  • Must maintain an active driver's license with a clean driving record.
