We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Texas Health Huguley - AdventHealth. As a key member of our cardiovascular services department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of our interventional laboratory services.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of technical skills during cardiovascular, non-ablation electrophysiology, and peripheral procedures to provide efficient, comfortable, and safe examinations for patients.
- Work in one of three standard roles: scrub, circulate, or monitor, consistent with the policies, procedures, and processes of the cardiovascular services department and hospital administration.
- Adhere to guidelines and standards of professional practice associations and actively participate in outstanding customer service.
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed, and perform hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.
- Verify orders, facilitate implementation, and communicate with physicians as needed.
- Perform treatments and administer medications according to policy and training.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and medications and perform within the bounds of the applicable scope of practice for cardiovascular invasive lab technologists.
- Facilitate timely patient throughput and produce an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient.
- Perform effectively in one of the three procedural roles required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals Scope of Practice.
- Take call as rotated/assigned and respond per policy.
- Proficiently perform diagnostic coronary procedures, diagnostic electrophysiology procedures, interventional radiology procedures, peripheral diagnostic and/or interventional procedures.
- Learns and upgrades skills, utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel, and provides training for procedures within their competency.
- May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing, if applicable.
- Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification.
- Current, valid license in one of the following: Registered Nurse (RN) or Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R)).
