- Occasionally present and facilitate course material with creativity and effective communication skills.
- Assess, interpret, and respond to students' needs during in-class activities and project work. Provide additional insights and clarifications on student inquiries during lectures.
- Leverage specialized knowledge of the program's technology stack while assisting individual students with their projects. Evaluate the quality of final student submissions and ensure that fundamental principles are being grasped and applied.
- Offer constructive feedback to students during regular evaluations and critiques.
- Motivate students to navigate the challenges associated with acquiring new skills.
- Collaborate efficiently with fellow instructional staff to address the diverse needs and learning preferences of students. Use sound judgment to identify student requirements and work with the team to provide optimal support.
- Partner with instructors to develop meaningful and timely feedback regarding students' progress.
Job Skills:
- Capable of delivering engaging, innovative, and informative lectures, including simplifying complex technology concepts for beginners.
- Proficient in all languages, frameworks, and technologies included in the curriculum, such as full-stack web development, C#, .NET, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, Entity Framework ORM, Azure Cloud, Testing, and Version Control.
- A proactive communicator who exercises discretion effectively and strives for clarity in interactions with students.
- Advanced computer skills, including command line usage, keyboard shortcuts, troubleshooting installations, and cloud-based coding platforms.
- Possesses industry experience, a college degree, or a coding bootcamp certificate in relevant languages and technologies. Self-taught candidates should demonstrate proficiency through at least three significant projects.
- Able to adapt quickly, operate effectively amid uncertainty during technical debugging, and communicate reassuringly with students experiencing self-doubt or confusion.
Work Experience:
- Entry-level position.
- Experience in an educational environment is advantageous.
Education:
- Self-taught developer, bootcamp graduate, or equivalent degree.
Other:
- Must be available to teach on-site five days a week.
- Typical office/classroom environment.
- Mobility within the office, including movement between floors.
- Willingness to work beyond 40 hours per week as required.
- Ability to access information using a computer.
- Capable of effective communication across all levels of management.
- Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
- Strong mental acuity and communication skills are essential.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are critical functions of this role.
