Role Responsibilities

The Nurse Extern PRN will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) and assist the nursing team in delivering patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing practices.
  • Collaborating with the clinical team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Documenting patient information accurately throughout the care process.
  • Assisting with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating patients.
  • Translating complex medical terminology for patients and their families to ensure understanding of medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Educating patients and families on health maintenance, lifestyle changes, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in good academic standing.
  • Ability to develop and implement a personal career development plan.
  • Completion of at least one year of nursing school is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
