Role Responsibilities
The Nurse Extern PRN will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) and assist the nursing team in delivering patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing practices.
- Collaborating with the clinical team to develop and implement care plans.
- Documenting patient information accurately throughout the care process.
- Assisting with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating patients.
- Translating complex medical terminology for patients and their families to ensure understanding of medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Educating patients and families on health maintenance, lifestyle changes, and discharge planning.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in good academic standing.
- Ability to develop and implement a personal career development plan.
- Completion of at least one year of nursing school is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
