The College of Nursing is seeking dedicated nursing faculty for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within a course-based curriculum, offering part-time roles. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students, addressing their inquiries and challenges in mastering course material.

Expectations for Faculty Members:

Faculty members are responsible for delivering quality education through effective use of online resources and technology. This role requires timely and respectful communication with students, adherence to university standards, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Course Structure and Availability:

Faculty will be assigned to 6-week courses using the Canvas learning management system. Collaboration with Student Success Advising and fellow faculty is essential, as is maintaining a flexible schedule to respond to student needs. Faculty members should communicate their availability clearly to students.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctorate (preferably in Nursing) from an accredited institution.
  • Expertise in population health or nursing informatics.
  • Current RN licensure in a Compact state.
  • A proven record of scholarly contributions to nursing.
  • At least one year of online teaching experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • A strong commitment to supporting students in a distance learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Technical Requirements:

Faculty members must possess a capable computer system to navigate the electronic learning platform and must be proficient in Microsoft Office and online meeting tools. Reliable internet access is essential.

Licensing and Certification:

Faculty must hold appropriate credentials and maintain licensure relevant to their teaching area. Continuous engagement with current research and literature is expected.
