Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and certified Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toledo. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, with a focus on water safety and stroke development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective program
Requirements
  • Certifications in Lifeguarding or YMCA Aquatics Safety Assistant (YASA), Adult/Child/Infant CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED
  • Certifications in Fundamentals of Teaching Swim Lessons and Youth & Adult Swim Lessons, or Parent/Child & Preschool Swim Lessons
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing situations
