Talascend Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Fremont, CA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and standards under the supervision of the Equipment and Maintenance Manager.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to perform major maintenance procedures and optimize equipment performance.
  • Perform or manage maintenance on all vehicle assembly equipment, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Respond to downtime events, equipment alarms, and production-related support requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Build solutions to recurring or anticipated problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Order tools, spare parts, and supplies for maintenance of existing and future equipment.
  • Train production staff on equipment best practices and ensure they are equipped to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Document equipment changes and modifications, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working with industrial automation, automotive shop equipment, automotive/aerospace assembly equipment, or equivalent.
  • Strong electrical (12VDC to 480VAC) and mechanical knowledge, with a basic understanding of robotics, PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, vehicle lifts, and DC tooling.
  • Good computer skills, with a willingness to learn 3D modeling software and read 2D and 3D prints and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, with a desire to collaborate with a small, flexible team of engineers and technicians.
