Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a vital role in providing orthopedic care to our patients, working closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to the exam area and perform intake procedures, including medical and relevant history, vital signs, and current medications.
- Obtain patient orthopedic history, order x-rays, and schedule diagnostic studies/surgery as needed.
- Prepare and assist with injections/aspirations, complete orders for imaging, therapy, surgery, medication, and DME, and dispense medication via in-house pharmacy.
- Apply casts, splints, and braces as directed by the medical team, perform dressing changes, and remove sutures/staples.
- Educate patients on the proper use of DME, surgical precautions, and plan of care.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians, answer patient phone calls in a timely manner, and complete forms for handicap parking permits, FMLA, disability, work/school excuses, and worker's compensation status.
- Schedule surgery and coordinate implants or special equipment/biologics with vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of one year experience in orthopedics/sports injuries, with clinic experience preferred.
- Board-certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) with a valid license in the state of Georgia.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
