Job Summary
AdventHealth is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the CVICU, MICU, and Neuro ICU. As a critical care physician assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients for changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions, including emergency care.
- Perform procedures such as chest tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, airway management, and defibrillation.
- Participate in the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of cardiac transplant, VAD, MCS, and ECMO patients.
- Rotate through Neuro and Medical ICU's as needed.
Schedule Details
• Ability to provide in-hospital coverage on a rotating shift basis.
• 14 (12-hour) shifts required per month, including days and nights.
• Campus: AdventHealth Tampa.
Requirements
- Experience as an APRN or PA in Critical Care, willing to work in all three units.
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification.
- Board Certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN.
- Experience with transplant patients, L-VAD, Circulatory Assist Device, CABG's, and ECMO.
- BLS, ACLS, CALS, FCCS, certifications or eligible.
