Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient sorting and racking of lumber according to grade markings and size. This role involves operating a forklift or industrial truck to assist in moving and loading materials and products.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, directing customers to building materials, and loading merchandise on delivery trucks.
- Assist with unloading deliveries as needed and remove lumber from units to place boards in racks according to grade and length.
- Read work orders, invoices, or follow oral instructions to determine materials or containers needing moved and/or loaded.
- Maintain the appearance of the yard and racks in an orderly and clean manner.
- Operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading or moving merchandise and materials.
- Complete daily forklift inspections and adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures.
- Demonstrate safety awareness of potential hazards to employees and customers.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple verbal or written instructions and effectively communicate with customers, management, and co-workers.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills within the scope of the position.

Physical Demands:
- This role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
