POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for organizing and delivering speech-language services aimed at facilitating patient rehabilitation. This role involves guiding patients through selected activities to restore, enhance, and reinforce their communication and swallowing abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings, evaluations, and assessments of patients, including detailed history and systems review, to establish diagnoses and identify impairments.
  • Develop tailored treatment goals and methodologies in collaboration with patients and their caregivers, implementing the speech-language pathology treatment plan effectively.
  • Document all services rendered, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and compliance with professional standards.
  • Apply therapeutic techniques across various domains, including cognitive-communication, speech clarity, oral motor skills, and swallowing disorders.
  • Participate actively in patient care meetings and contribute to staffing conferences.
  • Supervise Clinical Fellows, temporary licensees, students, and support staff in accordance with state regulations and professional guidelines.
  • Assist in the procurement of adaptive communication devices and provide training for patients on their usage.
  • Identify potential hearing deficits and make appropriate referrals for further assessment and rehabilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possession or eligibility for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or participation as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
  • Licensure, certification, or credentialing as mandated by the state of practice.
