Position Overview: The Electrician Level 1 is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and enhance all packaging and processing machinery and systems, including auxiliary equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Proactively troubleshoot equipment issues using logical methods, focusing on pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to prepare work orders.
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all equipment and support Predictive Maintenance (PdM) initiatives where applicable.
- Interpret technical documentation, including bulletins, manuals, and blueprints.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, providing daily updates on tasks and receiving assignments from the maintenance planner.
- Engage as an active member of the maintenance team, contributing to the development and implementation of team strategies and policies.
- Attend team meetings and foster a collaborative environment, addressing any issues that may hinder team cohesion.

Operational Standards:
- Familiarize yourself with Simmons' operational principles, including quality and safety standards, and understand the importance of individual actions in maintaining these systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in various environments, including cramped and elevated spaces, with exposure to noise levels above 90 decibels.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE includes steel-toed shoes, ear protection, and hard hats as necessary.

Industry Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in food manufacturing.

Education Requirements:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Some college or technical school education.

Competencies:
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt to changing production priorities calmly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
