Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Unit at UNC Lenoir Health Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification, ACLS certification within one year.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • None required for beginning nurse/new graduates. Requirements for specialty areas are defined as 1-2 years of experience in specialty area or related clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, and ENPC encouraged but not required.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and observation skills are essential.
Work Environment

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases requires the use of protective equipment. Exposed to other hazards such as radiation, toxic waste, and chemical hazards based on the department.

Physical Requirements

Requires a range of physical activity from sedentary work to heavy work. This includes sitting, standing, walking and lifting patients and objects throughout the shift.
