We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our facilities engineering department, you will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems throughout the hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing general maintenance work throughout the hospital
  • Ensuring all tools are clean and properly stored for future use and maintaining a good inventory of materials
  • Following hospital, state, and federal guidelines for ensuring a safe environment for workers, patients, and the public
  • Ensuring the facilities and equipment for department services are maintained to promote comfort, efficiency, and safety for patients and staff
  • Operating and cleaning and maintaining equipment per department and safety procedures
  • Using required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) safety equipment when in the department
  • Responding promptly to on-call duties

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license and one year of experience in all phases of general maintenance and facilities maintenance. A high school diploma or equivalent, electrical journeyman licensure, master's electrician licensure, and HVAC refrigerant licensure are also preferred.

The physical demands of this role include being able to climb ladders up to 40 feet in height, making essential repairs and cleaning vents, lights, and windows for extended shifts. The candidate must also be able to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move heavy equipment and machinery.

This is a non-exempt position with a scheduled weekly hours of 40 and a shift of variable hours. The company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity among its workforce.
