Adult Education ESL Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to join our team at the Alabama Community College System. The successful candidate will provide instruction and services to special populations, including economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals, and those for whom English is a second language.

• Provide instruction in English as a second language to assigned students, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs.
• Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress, adhering to National Reporting System guidelines.
• Develop and deliver courses and programs that meet community training needs, including job readiness classes, GED preparation, and computer literacy training.
• Assist with learner intake, orientation, and recruitment, as well as administer assessments and interviews to evaluate educational functioning levels.
• Demonstrate expertise in teaching techniques and subject area developments, incorporating current methods into instruction.
• Maintain effective communication with students, faculty, and College personnel, holding regular office hours and participating in College activities.

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Teaching experience at the college level preferred, with ESL certification (TESOL or TEFL) and experience with instructional technologies.
• Demonstrated competence in curriculum development, instruction, evaluation, assessment, and advising, as well as proficiency in using instructional technology.
