Pool Attendant

As a Lifeguard at Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District, you will be responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Your primary goal is to create a secure and enjoyable atmosphere that promotes safety and recreation in accordance with all district policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
You will perform various duties such as representing the district wearing an appropriate uniform on shift and acting in a professional manner at all times. Additionally, you will maintain constant and effective surveillance of the aquatics facility and patrons, enforce facility rules, provide first aid and CPR as required, and respond quickly and decisively to any emergencies or potential hazards.
Your work schedule may include early morning, weekend, holiday, and evening shifts. You will be required to work effectively and communicate with the public and coworkers in both written and oral forms. A strong understanding of safety rules and guidelines is essential, as well as the ability to act calmly and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
