Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of products throughout our warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layer Picking and Material Handling: Utilize forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport pallets of product between staging areas, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Product Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect products being moved for damage, quality, or deterioration, and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Pallet Building and Staging: Build pallets in Ti/Hi configuration, label and confirm quantities and product, and stage them for delivery to loading docks.
  • Inventory Management: Use warehouse management system (WMS) RF equipment to locate products for order building and accurate retrieval.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with immediate supervisors and colleagues to minimize warehouse shrink and damage, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with six months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.
  • Material Handling Equipment Experience: Experience with forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Frequent exposure to fast-moving material handling equipment, extreme cold or heat in freezer/cooler warehouse environments, and occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
