We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Astronomy to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in basic astronomy to students at Mt. San Antonio College.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in basic astronomy, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of diverse students.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of astronomy programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair.
- Master's degree in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or a related field.
- Experience in teaching astronomy courses at the community college level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing curriculum.
- Experience in assessing student learning and providing feedback.
- Experience in departmental meetings and contributing to program development.
The successful candidate will be required to work on campus, teaching courses and participating in departmental meetings.
