    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemist to lead our laboratory operations and drive high-throughput testing for our client, a startup laboratory.


  • About the Role

    As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for managing laboratory operations, developing and validating testing methods, and ensuring high testing standards.


  • Key Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:



    • Lead operations involving LC/MS, GC/MS, HPLC, and GC-FID; support additional testing with ICP-MS and wet chemistry methods
    • Plan and execute sample intake, preparation, testing, and reporting for food testing analytes
    • Develop and validate testing methods for pesticides, phthalates, mycotoxins, acrylamide, active ingredients, and botanicals
    • Recruit, manage, and mentor lab technicians
    • Develop and implement systems to maximize throughput and automation
    • Monitor and maintain instrument performance to minimize retests
    • Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and verification testing
    • Ensure regulatory compliance with ISO, FDA, and USDA standards
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow
    • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment

    Requirements:



    • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
    • 3+ years of laboratory experience in high-throughput analytical settings, specifically in food testing
    • Proficiency with LC/MS, GC/MS, HPLC, and GC-FID instrumentation
    • Method development experience is required
    • Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance
    • Experience with LIMS and QMS software, particularly QBench
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
