The Resource Center is a leading provider of services to individuals with disabilities in Chautauqua County. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate IDD Site Registered Nurse to join our team.
Job Summary:The IDD Site Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of health-related information.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide assessment, treatment, and care as directed by provider orders and established treatment plans.
- Act as primary RN in the coordination of nursing services for assigned caseload.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of participant health-related information to pertinent staff, programs, and families/advocates.
- Participate as an active member of the IDT to ensure two-way communication and promote continuity of nursing services.
- Provide emergency/acute evaluation and intervention as necessary.
- Advocate for all needed treatment to ensure quality of life and ensure appropriate follow-through/follow-up by associated parties.
- Ensure surveillance of health status and appropriateness of nursing services provided to assigned caseload.
- Complete and maintain annual and semi-annual nursing assessments, health-specific protocols, plans of nursing service, and other required medical documentation.
- Provide instruction and in-service training regarding participant health issues.
- Promote universal precautions and model appropriate infection control practices.
- Serve as department liaison for related workgroups/committees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field with New York State licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- OR Associate's Degree in Nursing with New York State licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Professional experience in skilled nursing facility strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred, acceptable driving record as established by the agency's insurance carrier, use of a personal vehicle, and willingness to travel required.
Graduates must obtain licensure within 90 days of offer and work under the direct supervision of licensed RN until they obtain their license.
